Asroi Technologies ("we", "us", "our") operates the Asroi mobile application and website at asroi.in. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our online rental marketplace for PGs, rooms, and flats in Northeast India.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Identity & contact: name, email address, phone number.
• Profile: occupation, role (tenant/landlord), profile photo, ID documents submitted for verification.
• Location: city and locality preferences; device location only with your permission.
• Property & booking: listings, booking history, rental agreements, messages between users.
• Payment: transaction amounts, payment status, and limited payment metadata (full card/UPI details are handled by our payment partner, not stored by us).
• Device & usage: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and analytics on how you use the app.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide and operate the rental marketplace (listings, bookings, agreements).
• Process payments and send transaction notifications.
• Send booking updates, rent reminders, and service-related messages.
• Verify identity and prevent fraud or abuse.
• Improve our products, fix bugs, and understand usage trends.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the service:

• Other users: landlords and tenants receive information necessary to complete a booking (e.g. name, phone, booking details).
• Razorpay: payment processing and refund handling.
• Supabase: secure cloud hosting and database storage for app data.
• Service providers: analytics, email/SMS delivery, and customer support tools bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Authorities: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information while your account is active and as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. After account deletion, we may retain certain records (e.g. payment logs) for a limited period as required by law or legitimate business needs, then delete or anonymize them.

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent for optional processing (such as marketing). To exercise these rights, email support@asroi.in from your registered email address. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Cookies & Similar Technologies

The Asroi mobile app does not use browser cookies. Our website may use essential cookies for security and session management. We may use analytics tools that collect aggregated, non-identifying usage data to improve the service.

8. Children's Privacy

Asroi is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, please contact support@asroi.in and we will delete it promptly. Users between 13 and 18 may browse with parental consent; rental agreements require users to be 18 or older.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure via Supabase. Payment data is processed by PCI-compliant partners. No online system is completely secure; please use a strong password and notify us of any suspected breach.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
